Our Story
The “Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin” (AIRQUEST) project aims to tackle air pollution in the Black Sea Basin by establishing an open-access online platform for air quality data and raising environmental awareness.
In collaboration with five partners—universities and NGOs from Türkiye, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Romania—the project will collect and analyze air pollution data using satellite-based and land-based monitoring systems. This data will inform stakeholders and enhance public understanding of air quality issues, supporting local, regional, and cross-border preventive measures.
The platform will serve schools, universities, NGOs, and local authorities, empowering them to interpret and act on the data. Launched in July 2024, this 24-month initiative seeks to foster collaboration and coordinated efforts to combat air pollution in the Black Sea Basin.
